Animation / Installation

Palgonsan Series, 2015, Installation view at the American Academy of Arts and Letters, New York, 2017

The Palgongsan Series is a five-channel animation installation inspired by the annual pilgrimage to Palgongsan mountain in South Korea. Thousands climb the mountain’s trail to pray at the Gatbawi Buddha statue for their children’s success in exams. The work reflects the artist’s personal connection to this ritual, passed down through her family.
